Family vintners for over 100 years, the Catenas are recognized for their pioneering role in high-altitude viticulture in Argentina. Over two decades ago, Nicolás Catena Zapata selected the Tupungato appellation with its pebble-covered soils and extreme cool nights, to plant the family's Chardonnay vineyards. Tupungato lies between 4000 and 5000ft in the foothills of the Andes mountains. This Chardonnay is deeply aromatic with expressive citrus fruit aromas and rich mineral notes.
This wine goes through cold settling for 12 hours at 41ºF (5ºC). The juice is then fermented for 25 days with a post-fermentation maceration of 6 hours. 8 months in contact with the lees. 100% French oak.
